Los Angeles police are investigating a home burglary in Valley Glen that occurred late Wednesday night, marking the latest in a series of property crimes reported across the San Fernando Valley in recent days.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were called to a residence on the 6800 block of Vanscoy Avenue at approximately 9:30 p.m. after reports of a break-in. When police arrived, they confirmed that the home had been forcibly entered, but the suspects had already fled the scene.
No arrests have been made, and authorities have not released any descriptions of the individuals involved. It also remains unclear whether anything was stolen from the property or if anyone was inside the home at the time of the incident.
Aerial footage from the scene showed significant damage to the property, including a shattered glass back door, indicating forced entry. Investigators remained on site as they worked to gather evidence and determine the sequence of events leading up to the burglary.
This incident comes amid a noticeable uptick in residential and commercial crime reports throughout the San Fernando Valley. Just hours before the Valley Glen break-in, another home burglary was reported in nearby Valley Village. In addition, law enforcement has been investigating a separate incident involving a North Hollywood coffee shop, as well as a police pursuit that began in the Valley and ended in South Los Angeles earlier in the week.
While officials have not confirmed whether the incidents are connected, the cluster of cases has raised concerns among local residents and prompted increased police attention in the area.
The investigation into the Valley Glen burglary remains ongoing, and LAPD is urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as they work to identify those responsible.
