$3 million in jewelry stolen during home burglary in Frederick Co.




Two suspects from Nevada have been arrested after police said they stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry from a home in the Urbana area of Frederick County, Maryland, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

On August 18, deputies responded to a call of a residential burglary. Sheriff's office detectives said approximately $3 million in jewelry had been stolen from the victim’s home.

According to the sheriff's office, Detective Josh Stears and members of the FBI in Baltimore identified two suspects who lived in Las Vegas and had traveled to Frederick during the time of the burglary.


On August 28, Frederick County detectives and FBI special agents searched the suspects' home. They said they found most of the victim’s stolen property along with illegal firearms and U.S. currency.


On September 1, detectives extradited Demarco Coney-Jones, age 29, from Las Vegas. On September 22, 2023, detectives extradited Akayla Tuttle, age 22, from San Diego.
