A quiet neighborhood in Beverly Crest was the scene of a disturbing overnight home invasion early Wednesday morning, as authorities continue to search for a suspect who managed to escape after burglarizing a private residence.
The break-in occurred around 1:20 a.m. at a home on the 2500 block of Hutton Drive. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect gained entry through a second-story window and proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of property from the residence.
At the time of the intrusion, a housekeeper was present inside the home. Fortunately, she was not physically harmed during the incident. The LAPD confirmed she was able to contact authorities immediately after the burglary occurred.
Adding to the concern, reports indicate that the home’s security cameras had been turned off at the time of the break-in. How or when the surveillance system was disabled remains under investigation.
Footage from the scene captured by local media showed multiple officers canvassing the area shortly after the report was made. Despite their rapid response, the suspect was not located.
As of this writing, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Residents in the Beverly Crest area are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
