Police Raid in North Hollywood Tied to Burglary and Possible Kidnapping in Woodland Hills

Residents in the San Fernando Valley woke up to a dramatic scene late Thursday night, as a large police operation unfolded in North Hollywood. The incident, which involved SWAT teams, armored vehicles, and even helicopters, is reportedly tied to a burglary and possible kidnapping that took place earlier the same day in Woodland Hills.

Authorities say the first crime occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning on the 22900 block of Calvert Street. Surveillance footage captured several armed suspects carrying large bags before fleeing in a getaway car. Along with the burglary, police revealed that a potential kidnapping was also involved, though all individuals believed to be victims were later located and deemed safe.

By Thursday night, investigators had tracked their leads to the 11200 block of Kling Street in North Hollywood. That’s where the LAPD launched a large-scale raid, using flash bang devices as officers surrounded the property. Neighbors reported being startled by the commotion, describing flashing lights, dozens of police vehicles, and loud noises throughout the night.

Video from the scene showed at least one person being detained. However, by Friday morning, a man inside the raided home told reporters the entire event was a “mix-up” and that those detained were later released. Authorities have not confirmed those claims and are still piecing together how the two locations are connected.

At this point, investigators remain tight-lipped about the details. What is known is that the Woodland Hills burglary and possible kidnapping sparked a far-reaching police response across multiple neighborhoods, highlighting the intensity of the ongoing investigation.
