Terrifying Home Invasion in Cheviot Hills Ends in Kidnapping and Release in Glendale

Home of abduction victim

In the early hours of Saturday morning, a Cheviot Hills neighborhood in West Los Angeles became the scene of a harrowing home invasion that has left both residents and authorities shaken.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, five masked intruders forced their way into a home on the 9800 block of Vicar Street around 1:30 a.m. The suspects, dressed in black and armed with at least one firearm, stormed the property, tied up the occupants, and abducted a man from inside the residence. The assailants also stole several personal electronics, including an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Among the victims was a 35-year-old pregnant woman who reportedly suffered a severe anxiety attack during the ordeal. First responders called an ambulance to the scene after officers arrived and began securing the property.

The abducted man—described as wearing only blue boxer shorts at the time—was later found approximately 22 miles away, near a gas station in Glendale, close to the junction of the 210 and 2 Freeways. No medical attention was reported for the man upon his release, and details about his condition have not been disclosed.

The suspects were last seen fleeing the Cheviot Hills area in a black pickup truck. Police are currently canvassing the neighborhood and reviewing security camera footage in an effort to identify the intruders.

Authorities urge anyone with information related to the case to contact the Los Angeles Police Department. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222-8477 or visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of how quickly and violently situations can unfold, even in typically quiet residential areas.
