UNLV Tragedy: 3 dead with more injured, suspect dead, police say

By 12:32 p.m., one suspect was located and confirmed deceased, providing a sense of relief, although the campus remained on high alert. UNLV continued to advise students to shelter in place, with police evacuating buildings one at a time. At 1:34 p.m., LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill assured the public that there was no further threat, allowing authorities to focus on attending to the victims.

In a precautionary measure, UNLV and other institutions in the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) closed their campuses for the remainder of the day. The LVMPD established a hotline (702-455-2433) for those impacted by the incident, providing reunification and victim services. A reunification center was also set up at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
