Authorities in San Mateo County are asking for the public’s help following a brazen armed home invasion robbery that occurred early Friday morning in San Carlos.

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 2 a.m. on Greenwood Avenue, near Brittan Avenue and east of Burton Park. The victim reported that a man wearing a black face mask forced his way into the home, pointed what appeared to be a firearm, and demanded money and valuables.

After the robbery, the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle. No injuries were reported.

Deputies responded quickly and conducted a search of the area using drone and K9 units, but the suspect was not located. The suspect was last seen wearing a black face mask, a dark-colored hoodie, and light-colored pants.

The sheriff’s office is now urging residents in the surrounding neighborhood to review any home security or surveillance footage recorded after midnight, particularly footage showing a person riding a bicycle.

In a statement, officials said additional patrols will be conducted in the area as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information, photos, or video that may assist investigators is encouraged to upload footage through the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office evidence portal or contact Detective M. Dimaya directly at 650-363-4064.
