Thieves flown into UK from Chile to target luxury homes

An Alarming number of reports have come in from Police departments across the globe in 2019 of “targeted burglaries” in affluent communities.

From Beverly Hills, California to South Tampa, Florida…. Hong Kong, Paris and London… We are seeing High-End Luxury neighborhoods targeted by gangs of thieves all over the world. With a widening wealth gap and the increased use of social media, luxury home break-ins has risen dramatically. Thieves can now stalk their next victim and know what the “prize” is by simply following them on facebook, twitter or instagram.

Criminals are even getting more brazen in how they go about breaking into homes. Sometimes even in broad daylight when they know the home owner is shopping or at work and heaven forbid even when they are home!!

TAMPA, FL — Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of high-end jewelry has been stolen since May during 23 break-ins at homes across South Tampa, police said.

In September alone, there have been seven burglaries believed to be related, police said.

Thieves made off with property in 13 of the 23 break-ins, reported in Beach Park, Davis Islands, and Palma Ceia.

HONG KONG — Police were called to an upscale residential estate at northern Hong Kong on Monday after two homes were broken into and items stolen.

The break-ins came to light just hours after two burglars made off with HK$120,000 (US$15,300) in cash and bottles of liquor from a shop in Sham Shui Po before daybreak.

LONDON, UK — A family watched as four axe-wielding burglars raided their home in terrifying doorbell footage streamed onto a mobile phone app.

The voices of the family can be heard on the video shouting “we’re being burgled” as the men, caught on CCTV footage, break in.

PARIS, FRANCE — Last December, PSG’s Brazilian defender Silva had up to 600,000 euros (S$926,000) worth of items robbed from his home in the plush 16th arrondissement while he was playing a Ligue 1 match against Nantes.

Two days later, Choupo-Moting’s home in the city was burgled for the second time in a month – he had previously been burgled while PSG were playing a Champions League game against Liverpool. Items with an estimated total value of one million euros were stolen from the Cameroon striker’s apartment.
