Five Arrested in Violent Rodeo Drive Robbery That Left Two Victims Injured

A violent armed robbery that shocked shoppers and bystanders on Rodeo Drive has led to the arrest of five suspects more than a year after the attack, authorities announced this week.

The incident occurred in the early afternoon of November 23, 2024, outside a luxury retail store in the heart of Beverly Hills. According to police, four masked suspects dressed in black confronted two victims and carried out a violent assault during the robbery.

Investigators say the male victim was struck in the back of the head with a firearm, while the female victim was knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked. The attackers fled with stolen handbags, cash, and an engagement ring. A fifth suspect reportedly waited nearby in a white rental vehicle and drove the group away from the scene.

Cellphone video captured the suspects running from the area moments after the attack, adding to the public’s alarm as the footage circulated online. The brazen nature of the crime—carried out in broad daylight in one of the country’s most heavily policed luxury shopping districts—sparked renewed concern about organized robbery crews targeting high-end retail corridors.

Detectives from the Beverly Hills Police Department launched an extensive investigation, using digital forensics, surveillance footage, and months of follow-up work to identify the suspects. Authorities later determined that all five individuals were residents of Oakland.

With help from the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force, investigators tracked down and arrested the suspects in Oakland over several months. The group was transported back to Beverly Hills, where they remain in custody awaiting trial.
