An early morning home invasion in Los Angeles’ Fairfax District left a resident assaulted after two armed suspects forced their way into a home and stole valuables, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 4:32 a.m. on Saturday in the 800 block of North Detroit Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators say two adult male suspects, both armed with handguns, entered the property and confronted a resident inside the home. During the encounter, the resident was assaulted. Authorities have not released details regarding the extent of the victim’s injuries.

Police reported that the suspects stole jewelry and cell phones before fleeing the scene in an unknown vehicle.

Video footage from the area showed multiple LAPD patrol units outside a modern residential property as officers conducted their investigation. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood for evidence and potential witnesses as daylight broke over the Fairfax District.

No arrests had been announced as of Saturday afternoon, and investigators continue to search for the suspects.

The incident serves as another reminder of the risks associated with residential burglaries and home invasions, which can quickly escalate into violent confrontations when occupants are present.

Anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.

Ongoing Investigation

At this time, authorities have not released descriptions beyond identifying the suspects as two adult males. Investigators are working to determine how the suspects gained entry to the residence and whether the home was specifically targeted.

As the investigation continues, residents in the area are being urged to remain vigilant and report any information that may assist law enforcement in identifying those responsible.
