In the early hours of Friday morning, Beverly Hills police arrested a man suspected of attempting to burglarize the home of legendary singer-songwriter and producer Lionel Richie.

Authorities confirmed that the 76-year-old entertainer was at his residence when the incident occurred. Just after midnight, a 911 call was made reporting an intruder on the property. Responding officers arrived promptly, conducting a search of the neighborhood before locating the suspect a few blocks away near Wilshire Boulevard and Beverly Glen.

The man, identified as 38-year-old Michael John Bond, was taken into custody on suspicion of residential burglary. According to law enforcement sources, security cameras captured images of the intruder as he entered Richie’s home. Fortunately, the security system’s alarms were triggered, which appeared to frighten the suspect and prevented further escalation.

While Richie was unharmed, the attempted break-in underscores the reality that even high-profile neighborhoods such as Beverly Hills are not immune to criminal activity. With police reporting increasing concerns over residential burglaries in the area, the incident serves as another reminder of the importance of vigilance and layered security measures for homeowners.
