California Homeowner Opens Fire on Burglars, Killing One

Shadow of person being held at gunpoint

A terrifying home invasion in San Bernardino County ended in gunfire on the night of March 4, 2025, leaving one suspect dead, two arrested, and another still at large.

The Incident

Deputies responded to a call around 9:18 p.m. from a homeowner on Grand Terrace Road, who reported that multiple intruders had broken into his residence. Fearing for his safety, the homeowner armed himself and opened fire on the suspects, who then fled the scene in a white sedan.

Just ten minutes later, authorities received a separate report from a 76 Gas Station on Redlands Boulevard about a man suffering from a gunshot wound. When deputies arrived, they identified him as one of the burglary suspects. He was accompanied by a 15-year-old boy who was also involved in the crime. The wounded suspect was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The juvenile was taken into custody.

Later that night, around 10 p.m., law enforcement was alerted to another suspect, Marquez Jackson, who was undergoing surgery for a gunshot wound at a nearby hospital. Upon his release, he was booked on charges of robbery and murder. The 15-year-old suspect was also arrested under the same charges.

Authorities have not yet located the fourth suspect and are actively investigating the case.
