A string of overnight burglaries in Los Angeles neighborhoods has left residents shaken after multiple homes were targeted over the weekend, including incidents in Chatsworth and Beverly Grove.

In Chatsworth, a couple returned home early Sunday morning after a night out to discover their house had been burglarized. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the break-in was reported around 12:30 a.m. in the 20300 block of Celtic Street near Figueroa Street.

The homeowners reportedly arrived to find shattered glass at the property and waited outside with their small dog while officers searched and cleared the residence. Investigators later confirmed that jewelry had been stolen during the burglary, though authorities did not specify the value of the missing items.

Police canvassed the neighborhood looking for surveillance footage that may have captured a suspect vehicle or possible escape route. As of Sunday morning, no suspect descriptions had been released.

The incident was especially unsettling for the homeowners, who told responding officers that the property had allegedly been burglarized once before within the last three years.

Less than 24 hours later, another break-in unfolded across the city in Beverly Grove, this time while residents were inside the home.

LAPD officers responded around 10:45 p.m. Sunday to a reported home invasion on the 8200 block of Oakwood Avenue. Authorities say at least two suspects entered the occupied residence through a kitchen window.

Reports from the scene indicated that a nanny and two small children were inside the home during the break-in. Police confirmed that residents were present when the suspects entered, though some details remain under investigation.

An alarm system inside the house apparently startled the intruders, causing them to flee before taking any property. Investigators said the suspects escaped in a newer-model Kia. Both were described as males wearing black hooded sweatshirts.

The Beverly Grove incident came just days after another burglary in nearby Studio City, where two suspects were caught on surveillance video entering a home while the residents were away. In that case, a neighbor confronted the fleeing suspects after receiving a message from the homeowner. The suspects reportedly used an irritant believed to be bear spray before escaping in a white Kia.

Police have not confirmed whether the recent incidents are connected, but the similarities between the cases — late-night timing, residential targeting, and the use of getaway vehicles — have heightened concerns among homeowners across Los Angeles.

Authorities continue to investigate all three incidents and are urging residents to review home security footage and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. Source: KTLA KTLA
