In yet another unsettling reminder of rising home intrusion incidents across Los Angeles, actor Anthony Anderson's primary residence in the upscale Encino neighborhood was broken into Sunday night, according to LAPD reports.
Authorities say three men forcibly entered the property while Anderson was away in Palm Springs attending a fundraiser for his foundation, which supports students at his alma mater, Howard University. Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the break-in, and there were no reports of injuries.
Details about what, if anything, was stolen remain unclear as the investigation continues. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
Encino, known for its affluent homes and celebrity residents, has seen a troubling number of burglaries in recent years. While this latest incident is still under investigation, it adds to the growing concern among homeowners about residential security and the targeting of high-profile individuals.
The LAPD has not released any surveillance footage or descriptions of the suspects at this time.
Anderson, best known for his roles in Black-ish and numerous film and television projects, has not issued a public statement beyond confirming the break-in to media.
