Home invasion, attempted armed burglary and string of vehicle break-ins reported in N.J. town

Brick police investigating a home invasion, an attempted armed burglary and several vehicle burglaries — all of which have taken place since Friday.

The home invasion was the most recent of the incidents and took place early Monday in Lake Riviera when multiple thieves stole a key fob and other items, Brick police said. The thieves fled when the homeowner awakened.

The attempted armed burglary occurred Friday in the Cherry Quay section of the township. Police ask anyone in the area with home surveillance cameras to check for suspicious activity between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m.

Police also said thieves burglarized multiple vehicles in the Shore Acres and Baywood sections of town on Sunday night. They fled in what appears to be a light blue or silver BMW sedan.

Residents are asked to report suspicious activity to police and not to approach suspects, who should be considered armed and dangerous. Residents should also lock the doors to their homes and vehicles and to remove key fobs from their cars.
