A series of residential burglaries in the Encino and Tarzana neighborhoods is under active investigation after three homes were targeted within just a few hours, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

LAPD officials say the break-ins occurred over roughly a three-hour span, and early indications suggest the crimes may be connected. Surveillance footage from a home on Ostrom Drive reportedly shows multiple suspects moving through the property, and investigators believe the individuals may have arrived in two separate vehicles.

In another incident on Alonzo Avenue, a homeowner returned to find her residence had been hit. Officers responding to the scene instructed her to stay inside her vehicle while they cleared the house. No suspects were found inside, and no injuries were reported in any of the cases.

Residents in the Encino–Tarzana area have expressed growing concern over the spike in crime. Neighbor Roy Mansana voiced frustration about the overall sense of safety, noting that community members want to feel protected and see their tax dollars at work.

Authorities are also reviewing a reported break-in at a business on DeSoto Avenue in nearby Woodland Hills to determine whether it may be linked to the residential burglaries.

In response to the uptick in incidents, members of the Encino Property Owners Association have begun funding and installing three license plate reading cameras at key intersections. According to association president Robert Glushon, the move is intended to support neighborhood safety amid rising concerns. The LAPD can request camera footage from the operating security company when needed for investigations.

While the cameras have only been in place for about a month, some residents say they already feel a heightened sense of security. Police continue to gather information as they work to identify the individuals responsible for the break-ins.
