A frightening home invasion unfolded early Friday morning in Studio City, where a 79-year-old homeowner shot and killed a naked man who allegedly broke into his house.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened around 7:10 a.m. on November 7, 2025, at a home in the 4500 block of Tujunga Avenue, just off the 101 Freeway. Police say the suspect—completely unclothed—forced his way into the residence and confronted the elderly homeowner.
Authorities report that the situation turned violent almost immediately. The intruder allegedly grabbed the homeowner, identified only as George, and threw him to the ground, causing two broken legs. Despite his injuries, the 79-year-old Vietnam veteran managed to retrieve a firearm and warned the suspect to leave. When the suspect continued to advance, the homeowner fired multiple shots, striking and killing the man.
Captain Warner Castillo of the LAPD told FOX 11, “The 79-year-old man tells the suspect to leave, tells him I have a gun and I will shoot you. The suspect grabs the man, lifts him, throws him on the ground, and that’s where he suffered two broken legs.” Castillo added that the suspect continued approaching even after being shot once, prompting the homeowner to fire again.
Neighbors told reporters that the same man had allegedly been seen attempting to break into other homes in the area prior to the incident. Investigators believe he may have driven to the neighborhood, as officers discovered a Prius nearby with its door open and clothing scattered on the ground.
The homeowner was transported to a hospital for surgery and is recovering. Two women were reportedly inside the home during the incident but were unharmed.
As of now, authorities have not released the name of the suspect, and the motive behind the bizarre and violent intrusion remains unclear. The LAPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the break-in and shooting.
