SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles police are investigating a series of overnight home break-ins in the San Fernando Valley after three residences were targeted within a span of just a few hours, raising renewed concerns about residential burglaries in the area.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the first break-in occurred around 7:40 p.m. Monday at a home on Topeka Drive in Tarzana. Police confirmed that someone was inside the residence at the time of the incident, though no additional details were released.

Encino Homes Targeted in Separate Burglaries

Less than an hour later, at approximately 8:20 p.m., suspects broke into a home on Ostrom Avenue in Encino. A third burglary occurred shortly before 11 p.m. at a residence on Alonzo Avenue, located less than two miles from the second incident.

Authorities say no one was home during the Encino break-ins, and property was reported stolen from one of the three homes. Investigators have not disclosed what items were taken or the estimated value of the loss.

Possible Connection Between San Fernando Valley Break-Ins

Police believe multiple male suspects were involved in all three incidents and are investigating whether the Tarzana and Encino burglaries are connected. The suspects remain at large as detectives continue their search.

Encino has been the site of prior high-profile home invasion cases. Earlier this year, an “American Idol” executive and her husband were killed by an intruder inside their Encino residence, a case that heightened awareness of violent residential crime in the neighborhood.

Recent Valley Burglaries Add to Resident Concerns

The latest incidents follow another recent burglary in the San Fernando Valley. Last week, the Studio City home of music producer Benny Blanco’s mother was broken into, further contributing to concern among homeowners across the region.

LAPD Investigation Ongoing

The LAPD continues to investigate the overnight burglaries and is asking anyone with information related to the incidents to come forward. As of now, no arrests have been announced.
