A late-night burglary in Panorama City is under investigation after two suspects broke into an occupied home while a family, including two children, was inside.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday in the 9500 block of Cedros Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities confirmed that two male suspects forced entry into the residence while the occupants were still at home.

Police say the suspects shouted at the residents during the break-in but did not physically assault anyone inside the home. The family was unharmed, though understandably shaken by the confrontation.

After entering the property, the suspects moved through the home and stole an unknown amount of jewelry, purses, and a cellphone before fleeing the scene. No detailed description of the suspects or any getaway vehicle has been released at this time.

The burglary is part of a broader pattern of residential break-ins reported across the San Fernando Valley in recent weeks, including a separate incident in Lake Balboa where a home was also ransacked while residents were away.

In response to the growing number of cases, LAPD has increased patrols in affected neighborhoods and assigned additional detectives and specialized units to support ongoing investigations. Law enforcement officials have also been collaborating with private security firms utilizing AI-assisted surveillance systems to help identify suspects and track movements in real time.

According to security representatives, footage and license plate data collected from such systems have already assisted police investigations in the region and, in some cases, contributed to arrests.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information about the Panorama City break-in to contact LAPD.

The case remains active, and no arrests have been made.
