Woodland Hills, CA – A terrifying home invasion shook a quiet Woodland Hills neighborhood late Sunday night as suspects stormed a residence, restrained a sleeping resident, and made off with a safe.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on the 23000 block of Erwin Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. One resident, who was asleep in a bedroom, was startled awake by the intruders and was immediately zip-tied. Another resident, who happened to be in the laundry room at the time, was also captured and held inside the home for several harrowing hours.
Police believe three to four suspects were involved, but no clear descriptions have been provided at this time. Authorities have not released specific details on any injuries sustained during the ordeal, and what exactly was inside the stolen safe remains unknown.
The break-in has left the Woodland Hills community on edge, especially as it follows a similar incident earlier this month just three miles away. In that case, on March 4, three individuals were bound and locked inside a closet during another violent home invasion. Police have not indicated if the two cases are connected or if any arrests have been made in the earlier robbery.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant as police continue their search for the suspects involved in Sunday night’s crime.
