Zip-Tied Victim Escapes After Armed Home Invasion in Del Rey

Zip-tied victim escapes after home invasion in Del Rey news headline

A harrowing home invasion rocked a residential neighborhood in Del Rey, Los Angeles on the evening of June 2, 2025, leaving one victim zip-tied and another potentially restrained, as authorities search for multiple armed suspects who fled the scene.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed officers responded to a reported hot prowl burglary—a break-in occurring while residents are home—around 6:10 p.m. in the 11300 block of Culver Boulevard. By the time law enforcement arrived, the suspects had already escaped.

According to investigators, at least three individuals broke into the residence, two of them armed. Details remain limited regarding how they gained entry or what exactly transpired inside the home. Police have not released descriptions of the suspects or information about what, if anything, was stolen.

What is clear, however, is that one of the victims was zip-tied during the ordeal. In a remarkable act of bravery, that individual managed to free themselves and fled on foot to the nearby LAPD Pacific Division station to seek help. It is unclear whether the second victim was also restrained, though no serious injuries have been reported.

Footage posted on Citizen.com shows a heavy law enforcement and emergency response presence outside the home, with multiple police vehicles blocking off the street as investigators worked the scene.

The LAPD has not confirmed whether the incident was random or targeted, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The Del Rey community—nestled just west of Culver City and bordering Marina del Rey—is known for its quiet, residential atmosphere, making Monday’s incident all the more unsettling.

As more information is released, local residents are left with questions about safety and preparedness in the face of increasingly bold criminal activity.
